Welcome Head Coach Kurt Knoper!

We are happy to announce after a thoughtful search that Kurt Knoper will be our Head Coach as we embark on our 2025 season!

Coach Kurt has been an assistant coach at Cranbrook Swim Club for 8 years. He is also the Head Coach at Berkshire Middle School for both the girls and boys teams and he assists coaching with BBA/Atlantis. He is a dedicated member of our team and we are so excited to have him accept this role!

2025 Swim Team Practice Schedule

Pre - Season Monday through Thursday (beginning May 12th through June 13th)

  • 13 and ups:  4:00-5:20 pm
  • 11/12s:  5:20-6:15
  • Jr. Dolphins:  5:45-6:15 pm (In trapezoid pool starting May 27th following try-outs)
  • 8 and under:  6:15-6:45 pm
  • 9/10s:  6:45-7:30 pm

Morning Practice Monday through Friday (beginning June 16th though July 25th)

  • 13 and up: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
  • 8 and under: 8:45 AM - 9:45 AM
  • Jr. Dolphins: 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM
  • 9/10s: 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM
  • 11/12s: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Swim Lessons 

You can now register for JUNE lessons.  JUNE Lessons are available for $20 registration and $15 per day. You select the time and dates you are available.  We run group lessons at 8:30, 9:30, 10, and 10:30.  We have many instructors with competitive swimming backgrounds, multiple years experience, have USA Swimming Certifications, have experience with special needs instruction or can instruct in other languages. PRIVATE LESSON REGISTRATION $130/4 Lessons

Adult Swim

Adults will have exclusive access to the lap pool from 6pm to 7pm, Mon through Fri (excluding holidays and club closed dates), when school is out of session beginning June 16th. 


Recertification for Lifeguarding                    

 $100 Members/$125 Non-members

To participate in the Lifeguarding Recertification class you must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, and certification expired by no more than 30 days.

During the course, individuals will have the opportunity to review and practice their skills. Participants must pass the final written test and the three (3) final skill assessments.

    CSC offers a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course

    June 16-21

    This blended learning class provides students with the information and skill preparation to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provides professional level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies and sudden illness.

    Classes meet  June 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 from 9:15am to 1:15pm (Bring a lunch)

    Test Day is Sat June 21 from 8am to Noon

    Members $200

    Non-members $250

    Registration begins May 1

    Team Gear Shop

    • The Online Varsity Shop is available at the beginning of the season. If you did not get to order a team suit and want to get one, you can call the Varsity Shop or go in and order one individually or purchase a royal blue bathing suit.
    • Gear shop is available UNTIL MAY 18TH, 2025.
    • Team suit is not required.

      This is for a private swim lesson registration.  The cost is $130 for initial registration and four (4) private lessons.  After the initial four (4) lessons each registrant is open to working directly with the instructor to schedule further lessons.  You will be given a new instructor if you re-register for additional private lessons online.   If you like your instructor, please work with them to schedule and pay them directly for additional private lessons.

      Since most of our instructors are in school, we will begin placing instructors with swimmers after May 19th.  If you are looking for private instruction in May, please email manager@cranbrookswimclub.com. 

      Most lessons will begin the week of Jun 16th (when school is out).  Please let us know your availability when school is out of session.  Due to the club schedule, we will only allow a few lessons during our "open" hours of 11am to 9pm.  Most lessons will be scheduled between 8am-11am Monday through Saturday.  


      Due to many instructors leaving for college and high school sports in August, this registration portal closes July 14 in order for us to schedule 4 lessons with an instructor.  Lessons may be available, but not typically.  Please email manager@cranbrookswimclub.com for availability after July 14th.

      Group Swim Lessons

       ~3- 5 swimmers in each group per instructor.

      Group Swim Lessons for Cranbrook Swim Club are for ages 2.5 to 12 years old.  (ages 13 to adult should register for private lessons). We work with kids with all ability and comfort levels. We have many instructors with a variety of experiences.  Some are USA Swim Coaches, some are teachers, some have been competitive swimmers, and many have been teaching for years.  Kids will be grouped with an instructor based on experience and learning needs.  Because days and times can vary for everyone, you may have a few different instructors.  


      Lessons may be cancelled for thunderstorms or pool issues (make ups will be the immediate Friday after).  Should you need to cancel, We will need notice the day before your lesson so that we may reschedule with an available instructor.  Because these are not private lessons, the admin team will need to process the rescheduling.

      LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

      June Class Mon, Jun 16 thru Sat, June 21 ~9a to 1:15p

      Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to water emergencies with American Red Cross lifeguard training. You will learn how effective preparation and quick response times are vital to being a lifeguard while also understanding the crucial elements in helping to prevent drownings and injuries.  

      Please make sure you attend all units and complete the online portion to pass the class.  If you have an issue with a particular lesson/date, we can try to schedule a make up with other students.  Lifeguard Certification tests will be on Saturday, June 21.  

      **If you turn 15 after the class end date, please let us know so that we can schedule appropriately. 

      THIS IS A BLENDED LEARNING CLASS and you will need to complete the online portion before Tuesday, June 17.   Classes are aproximately 9:00am to 1:15pm.

      A 2 year certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is issued upon successful completion of our training and coursework. A digital certification is available upon completion.

      Prerequisites for lifeguard training include:

      Age: Students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class. 

      Qualifications: Students must pass a pre-course swimming skills test on the first day of water classes. This includes a 200-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke, a 2-minute tread using legs only and the ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder .

      Member Cost: $200

      Non-Member Cost: $250

      Support these athletes by pledging a donation in their honor!

      We collect donations through July 13, 2025

      This is an ongoing fundraising effort that we participate in every summer. This money will be given to the Northwest Suburban Swim League during our championship season and the collective funds donated.  We present the donation to a local chapter during our

      Championship Event at the end of July.
