LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION
June Class Mon, Jun 16 thru Sat, June 21 ~9a to 1:15p
Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to water emergencies with American Red Cross lifeguard training. You will learn how effective preparation and quick response times are vital to being a lifeguard while also understanding the crucial elements in helping to prevent drownings and injuries.
Please make sure you attend all units and complete the online portion to pass the class. If you have an issue with a particular lesson/date, we can try to schedule a make up with other students. Lifeguard Certification tests will be on Saturday, June 21.
**If you turn 15 after the class end date, please let us know so that we can schedule appropriately.
THIS IS A BLENDED LEARNING CLASS and you will need to complete the online portion before Tuesday, June 17. Classes are aproximately 9:00am to 1:15pm.
A 2 year certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is issued upon successful completion of our training and coursework. A digital certification is available upon completion.
Age: Students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class.
Qualifications: Students must pass a pre-course swimming skills test on the first day of water classes. This includes a 200-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke, a 2-minute tread using legs only and the ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder .
